VOLLEYBALL GOES 2-1 AT UNIVERSITY OF CHARLESTON TOURNAMENT

CHARLESTON, WV- The Pace women's volleyball team posted a 2-1 record in three matches at the University of Charleston Tournament this weekend. On Friday, the Setters defeated Glenville State 3-1 before falling to Charelston 3-1. On Saturday, Pace wrapped up their weekend on a positive note, defeating Concord 3-0.

The Setters took the opening match 3-1 over Glenville State with scores of 22-25, 25-20, 25-21, 25-23, while falling in the second match on Friday to Charleston 3-1 (19-25, 25-18, 10-25, 15-25. Pace took their lone match on Saturday, defeating Concord 3-0 (25-20, 25-22, 25-13).

For the three-match tournament, Sianna Johnson (Long Beach, CA/Long Beach Poly) led the Setters with 28 kills, while adding eight blocks. Victoria Pompilus (Mt. Vernon, NY/Mt. Vernon)totaled 26 kills, while posting a .377 hitting percentage. Pompilus led the Setters with 13 total blocks over the weekend. Shea Hansen (Mesa, AZ/Red Mountain)totaled 88 assists, averaged eight per set. Nora Rugova (Mt. Kisco, NY/Fox Lane) recorded 21 kills, 19 assists and 11 blocks, while Elyse Rowland (Antioch, CA/Deer Valley)chipped in with 21 kills and six blocks.

The Setters return to action on Tuesday, September 15 when Pace will host Queens College in a non-conference match at the Goldstein Fitness Center at 7:30 pm.
