PACE MAKES COMEBACK FOR 3-2 VICTORY OVER FRANKLIN PIERCE
PLEASANTVILLE, NY- The Pace women's volleyball team took the first set 25-19, against the Franklin Pierce. After dropping the next two sets (25-22, 25-22), the Setters were forced to rally back winning the final two sets (25-9, 15-7) and pulling out a 3-2 victory in the regular season finale.
Pace improves to 17-10 overall and 9-6 in conference play. Franklin Pierce falls to 8-22 overall, while their record goes to 3-12 in the Northeast-10.
Sianna Johnson (Long Beach, CA/Long Beach Poly) led the Setters attack with 19 kills and an outstanding .410 hitting percentage. Johnson also served up three aces.
Freshman Nora Rugova (Mt. Kisco, NY/Fox Lane) attacked for 16 kills and totaled seven digs. Fellow freshman Susana Verdugo-Del Real (El Centro, CA/Southwest) totaled 14 kills for Pace.
Stephanie Kazmierczak (Buffalo, NY/City Honors) chipped a match-high 33 digs, while sophomore Shea Hansen (Mesa, AZ/Red Mountain) made a match-high 57 assists on the afternoon.
The Setters will return to action on Friday, November 13 when they compete in the Northeast-10 Conference Tournament taking place at UMass-Lowell in Lowell Massachusetts.
