Like many recent college graduates, Maria Brown, who just graduated from New Yorks Pace University at the age of 22, had trouble deciding what to do next. Instead of continuing to study her major, biology, at medical school, she has decided to follow her heart and head for court: the basketball court. Since Ive already decided to go for pro, I wanted to do it in my mothers country, the half-Korean told the Chosun Ilbo. Fast and powerful Korean basketball is just my style.

PACE RANKS 6TH IN WBCA ACADEMIC TOP 25 TEAM HONOR ROLL
PLEASANTVILLE, NY The Pace University womens basketball team posted a combined 3.52 grade-point-average, landing them in the 6th spot in the Womens Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) 2005-06 Academic Team Honor Roll for NCAA Division II. The award recognizes teams throughout the nation that have the highest grade-point-averages for the 2005-06 season based upon nominations submitted by WBCA-member coaches.

SEYMOUR NAMED MBWA DIVISION II COACH OF THE YEAR
WHITE PLAINS, NY- Pace University Womens Basketball head coach Carrie Seymour was named the Division II Coach of the Year by the Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association. It is Seymours fourth selection as Coach of the Year by the MBWA. She previously won in 1996, 2000 and 2001. Senior Jesse Dlabola and junior Ashley Wallace were named to the 2nd team.

PLEASANTVILLE, NY – Pace University graduate Wanda Maynard Morris was one of 10 women’s basketball players named to the Northeast-10 Conference Women’s Basketball 25th Anniversary Team. Maynard-Morris played for the Setters from 1998 through the 2001-02 season.

LATE RUN GIVES BENTLEY 67-60 WIN OVER PACE
PLEASANTVILLE, NY – The Pace University women’s basketball team lost to Bentley College, 67-60, in a Northeast-10 Conference Tournament quarterfinal game in Pleasantville, NY. Pace falls to 21-7 overall and will await to see the pairings for the upcoming NCAA Division II Northeast Regional. Bentley improves to 20-12 overall and advance to the NE-10 Conference Tournament semifinal game on Friday, March 3, 2006.

PLEASANTVILLE, NY – The Pace University women’s basketball team defeated Saint Anselm College, 73-54, in a Northeast-10 Conference match-up at the Goldstein Fitness Center on the Pleasantville campus of Pace University. Pace improves to 21-6 overall and 16-6 in the Northeast-10 Conference. Saint Anselm drops to 7-20 overall and 3-19 in NE-10 action.

The Setters (20-6, 15-6 Northeast-10) pick up their 20th win of the season, while Le Moyne (11-15, 7-14 Northeast-10) drops its fourth consecutive contest.
