Ashley Wallace Named to Northeast-10 Conference 3rd Team

PLEASANTVILLE, NY - Junior Ashley Wallace (Oswego, NY) was named to the Northeast-10 Conference Women's Basketball 3rd team, as voted on by the Northeast-10 Conference women's basketball coaches. Wallace was one of 20 players, including five freshman, to receive the honors as release on Thursday, March 2, 2006.

Wallace had a break-out season for the Setters, leading them with 11.8 points and 6.1 rebounds per game while shooting 52.1% (138-265) from the floor.  Wallace ranked 14th in the conference in points per game and 3rd in field goal percentage.  For the year, she started in 26 out of 28 games played, scoring in double figures 19 times.  Against St. Michael's on December 10, 2005, she turned in her first double-double performance, finishing with 15 points and 11 rebounds.  In her only 20-point game of her career, against Bryant on January 24, 2006, she also grabbed 10 rebounds.  This season she set career highs in points (331), points per game, rebounds (172), rebounds per game, steals (21), field goals (138) and field goal percentage.  Wallace led Pace in scoring seven times, and led the team in rebounding 12 times.  Heading into her senior season she has totaled 706 points, 444 rebounds, and is shooting 47.2% (287-607) from the floor. 

Earlier in the season, Wallace was named to the Northeast-10 Conference All Academic 1st team and the ESPN The Magazine Academic All America District 1 College Divsion 2nd team. Wallace posted a Northeast-10 Conference high grade-point-average of 3.97 in Secondary Education.

Around the conference, Stonehill's Alisha Collins was named Player of the Year while freshman teammate Kelsey Simonds was named Rookie of the Year.  Southern Connecticut's Anabel Perdomo was named Defensive Player of the Year while SCSU's Joe Frager was named Coach of the Year. Collins was joined on the 1st team by Assumption's Charde Floyd, Merrimack's Joelle Martin, Southern Connecticut's Shamika Jackson and American International's Sharmion Selman.  Heading the 2nd team were Bentley's Carolyn Gottstein, Franklin Pierce's Heather Jacobs, Saint Rose's Mary Lewis, Saint Michael's Dani Rayner and American International's Krystal Pressley.  Wallace was joined on the 3rd team by Bentley's Shannon Kirwan, Southern Connecticut's Babette Noah and Bryant's Shannon Perry and Joanna Skiba.
