SETTERS STAY UNDEFEATED WITH WIN OVER NEW HAVEN
PLEASANTVILLE, NY – The Pace University women’s basketball team defeated University of New Haven, 68-59, to improve to 9-2 overall. New Haven drops to 7-3 overall with the loss.
Hannah Sheppard (Norwich, CT/Norwich Free Academy) came off the bench to total 17 points on 5-of-6 shooting from the floor and 7-of-9 from the free throw line. Sheppard also pulled down a game-high nine rebounds. Jesse Dlabola (Levittown, NY/ Holy Trinity) chipped in 12 points and also totaled five rebounds, four assists and four steals. Maria Brown (Frederick, MD/Frederick) finished with 10 points and six rebounds.
New Haven pulled within six with less than six minutes to play. Andrea Padelsky (Lebanon, PA/Lebanon) knocked down a pair of 3-pointers while Sheppard converted on a pair of free throws to push the Setter lead back to 14. New Haven’s Adelina Gentry (Lansdale, PA/North Penn) had a team-high 12 points as well as six rebounds and four steals. Ashley Hilton (Skowhegan, ME/Skowhegan) had 10 points, five rebounds and three assists.
Pace and Bentley close out the women’s side of the 2005
Westchester Marriott Holiday Classic at 2-0 while New Haven and
Bridgeport both finished at 0-2. Pace returns to action when
they travel to Rindge, NH on Monday, January 2nd for a
5:30 p.m. tip-off with Northeast-10 Conference opponent Franklin
Pierce College.
