PLEASANTVILLE – Jesse Dlabola (Levittown, NY/Holy Trinity) finished with 18 points, five assists and five steals as the Pace University women’s basketball team defeated Bentley College, 78-64, in a Northeast-10 Conference match-up at the Goldstein Fitness Center on the Pleasantville campus of Pace University. Pace improves to 18-5 overall and 13-5 in the Northeast-10 while Bentley drops to 14-11 overall and 10-7 in conference play.
The win was Pace’s first over Bentley since 2002, snapping a five-game win streak by the Falcons over the Setters. Despite being outrebounded, 41-22, Pace took advantage of 23 Bentley turnovers on 16 Pace steals. Pace also shot hit on 30-of-60 from the floor, including 10-of-19 from 3-point range as well as converting 8-of-9 from the free throw line.
The Setters led at halftime, 29-25, behind a balanced offensive attack that featured seven different scorers. Pace would trade hoops with Bentley until the 12:14 mark when the Setter took off on an 8-to-4 run to give Pace a seven point lead, 21-14, with 8:45 remaining. In the run, Andrea Padelsky (Lebanon, Pa/Lebanon) and Liran Buchris (Massad, Isreal/Great Neck South) both hit from 3-point range. Bentley would go tie the game at the 4:22 mark at 21-21 and again at 25-25 with 1:45 in the left. Maria Brown (Frederick, MD/Frederick) and Stephanie Klingele (Staten Island, NY/ St. John Villa) both scored with just over a minute to play while holding the Falcons scoreless to give Pace a 29-25 lead heading into halftime.
Bentley chipped away at Pace’s lead, eventually tying the game at 38-38 with 15:46 on the clock. Pace would respond with an 11-0 run to take a 49-38 lead with 14:01 remaining in the game. Pace would hold the lead, eventually pushing it to 15 at the 4:28 mark, 69-54. Jesse Dlabola (Levittown, NY/ Holy Trinity) dropped in five of her 2nd half 14 points as Pace rolled to a convincing 78-64 win.
For Pace, Dlabola’s 18 points were a game-high, while Klingele and Ashley Wallace (Oswego, NY/Oswego) both dropped in 12 points. Klingele also registered three assists and two rebounds while Wallace pulled in four boards. Buchris would hit on both 3-point attempts for six points while also picking up five assists. Brown finished with 10 points and six steals. Hannah Sheppard (Norwich, CT/Norwich Free Academy) totaled seven points and seven rebounds.
For Bentley, Carolyn Gottstein (Albany, NY/Boston College) had 16 points and 11 rebounds while also blocking two shots. Shannon Kirwan (Melrose, Mass./Melrose) scored 17 poitns while also picking up nine assists and two steals.

on Tuesday, February 7th at 5:30 p.m. at the Goldstein
