ASHLEY WALLACE AND HANNAH SHEPPARD NAMED TO NE-10 WOMEN'S BASKETBALL ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM

SOUTH EASTON, MA - The Northeast-10 Conference has announced the members of the 2006-07 Women's Basketball All-Academic Team. To be eligible for selection to the academic teams, a student athlete must have met and/or exceeded the following minimum requirements: 1) participated in at least half of the team's competitions and be either a starter or significant contributor; 2) achieved a 3.2 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale); and 3) completed at least one academic year at his/her current institution. The Northeast-10 All-Academic Teams are chosen by a vote of the Northeast-10 Sports Information Directors.

Senior Ashley Wallace (Oswego, NY/Oswego), an Education major, was named to the First Team with a GPA of 3.97 and classmate Hannah Sheppard (Norwich, CT/Norwich Free Academy), also an Education major, was named to the Second Team with a GPA of 3.82.  

So far on the season, Wallace is second on the team in scoring, averaging 11.7 points per game shooting 53.1% (86-for-162) from the field. Wallace has currently scored 931 points at Pace, putting her 69 points away from 1,000 for her career. She is ranked 18th in the conference in scoring and fourth in the conference in field goal percentage. Wallace is also second on the team in rebounding, averaging 6.2 rebounds per game. Sheppard is leading the team in total rebounds (155), rebounding average (8.6), offensive rebounds (41), defensive rebounds (114), and blocked shots (16). She is third in the conference in rebounding, 14th in offensive rebounds, third in defensive rebounds, and 10th in blocked shots. Sheppard is third on the team in scoring with 9.5 points per game, tying her for 30th in the NE-10 in scoring.
