WOMEN'S BASKETBALL USES SECOND HALF RALLY TO WIN THIRD STRAIGHT
WALLACE RECORDS 1,000 CAREER POINTS
PLEASANTVILLE, NY- The Pace University women's basketball team defeated Northeast-10 Conference opponent Le Moyne College, 58-53, at the Goldstein Fitness Center on Pace's Pleasantville campus, winning their third consecutive game. The Setters improve to 17-6 overall, 12-6 in the NE-10, while the Dolphins drop to 8-15 and 4-14 in conference play.
Le Moyne took control early, taking a 16-8 advantage at the 12:20 mark of the opening period. The Setters rallied to cut it to two midway through the first half. The Dolphins extended their lead back to eight points, before taking a 29-23 lead into the break.
The Dolphins continued their solid play early into the second half, netting the first seven points of the final period, to take their largest lead of the game at 36-23. Pace began to chip away at the Dolphin lead, using an 18-6 run over a 10-minute period to trail by one at 42-41 with just over eight minutes left in the game. The Setters took only its second lead of the game when Ashley Wallace (Oswego, NY/Oswego) converted a lay-up to put Pace up by one. Liran Buchris (Massad, Israel/Great Neck South) nailed a three-pointer to put Pace by four with just over five minutes to go. Le Moyne would rally to tie the score at 50 on a Lindsay Ellis bucket. Following a Wallace lay-up, the Dolphins would retake the lead on Katie Dunn's three-pointer, which proved to be Le Moyne's final points of the game. The Setters responded as Wallace nailed another basket from the post to give Pace the lead for good. Buchris converted a pair of free throws with eighteen seconds left in the game. With time ticking away, Buchris stole the ball at half court, drove the lane and hit a lay-up that would complete the Setter second half comeback and ice the game.
For Pace, Wallace tallied a game-high 20 points and nine boards, while shooting 8-for-14 from the field. With her free throw at the 13:41 mark of the second half, Wallace became the 21st player in Pace history to score 1,000 career points. Stephanie Klingele (Staten Island, NY/St. John Villa) scored 12 points, while Buchris finished with nine points, along with game-highs in assists with five and steals with four.
For the Dolphins, Kim Wagoner led Le Moyne with 16 points and four boards, while Dunn totaled 15 points, nine rebounds and three assists.

opponent Southern New Hampshire University on Saturday, February 10
for a 1:30 pm tip-off.
