WOMEN'S BASKETBALL CRUISES PAST QUEENS COLLEGE, 65-40 

PLEASANTVILLE, NY- The Pace University women's basketball team defeated Queens College, 65-40 in a non-conference match-up at the Goldstein Fitness Center on Pace's Pleasantville campus. The Setters remain unbeaten on the young season at 4-0, while Queens drops to 1-3.

Pace took control midway through the first half, using a 19-4 run to build a 33-13 lead with 4:02 remaining. Senior Ashley Wallace (Oswego, NY/Oswego) started and capped the Setter run with six points, while freshman Taylor Losey (Bristol, CT/Bristol Eastern) keyed the run with a pair of three-pointers. Queens responded with a 14-3 run to close out the first half to cut the Setter lead 36-27 at the break. Jillian Henn (Mohegan Lake, NY/Oyster Bay) and Danielle Castelli (Valley Stream, NY/Valley Stream) each netted a three-pointer in the Knights run.

The Setters broke the game open early in the second half using a 14-0 run to push the lead to 52-30 with 13:15 left in the game. Stephanie Klingele (Staten Island, NY/St. John Villa) and Losey each knocked down a three-pointer to key the run. Pace would maintain their double-digit lead for the remainder of the game and cruised to the win.

Pace was led by Losey, who sparked the Setter offense coming off the bench to tally a game-high 15 points, shooting 5-for-6 from the field and long range. Klingele and Wallace each recorded 13 points and four assists, with Wallace grabbing six rebounds. Stephanie Rossmy (Staten Island, NY/St. John Villa) tallied a game-high seven rebounds on the afternoon.

For the Knights, Henn was the lone Queens player to score in double-figures, finishing with 12 points, while Castelli netted eight points. Maryann Welsh (Marine Park, NY/Bishop Kearney) recorded six points and a team-high six boards.

The Setters return to action on Sunday November 26th , when they host Saint Michael's College in a Northest-10 Conference match-up at the Goldstein Fitness Center on Pace's Pleasantville campus for a 3:30 pm tip-off.
