PACE UNIVERSITY HOLIDAY CLASSIC DAY 2 RECAP

PIONEERS POST DAY 2 WIN; SETTERS SWEEP HOLIDAY CLASSIC

Game 1- C.W. Post 64, Southern New Hampshire 62

PLEASANTVILLE, NY- The Pioneers of C.W. Post defeated the Penmen of Southern New Hampshire, 64-62, in the opener of Day 2 of the Pace University Holiday Classic. The Pioneers improve to 5-6 overall, while the Penmen drop to 5-8.

For C.W. Post, Erica Bell led all scores with 21 points, while Whitney Murrer tallied 16 points and eight rebounds. Basimah Thompson recorded 10 points, nine assists, and five boards. Bell was named to the All-Tournament team.

For Southern New Hampshire, Megan Shay scored a team-high 14 points to go along with six boards. Ashara Carrington recorded a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Sara Tucker chipped in 11 points, while Julia Houghtaling tallied seven points and sevens boards. Carrington was named to the All-Tournament team.

GAME 2- PACE 83, SAINT THOMAS AQUINAS 38

PLEASANTVILLE, NY- The Setters of Pace University coasted to an, 83-38, over the Spartans of Saint Thomas Aquinas to wrap up the Pace Holiday Classic. The Setters improve to 10-2 overall, while the Spartans drop to 4-6.

For Pace, Ashley Wallace (Oswego, NY/Oswego) and Liran Buchris (Massad, Israel/Great Neck South) each recorded double-doubles in the win. Buchris finished with 11 points and 11 assists, while Wallace tallied 14 points and 10 rebounds. Stephanie Klingele (Staten Island, NY/St. John Villa) scored eight points, grabbed six boards, dished out two assists and had a pair of steals. Buchris was named the Most Outstanding Player for her two-day performance, while Wallace and Klingele earned a spot on the All-Tournament Team. Freshman Taylor Losey (Bristol, CT/Bristol Eastern) chipped in 13 points, three boards and three steals, while Stephanie Rossmy (Staten Island, NY/St. John Villa) added 10 points, five rebounds and six assists.

For Saint Thomas Aquinas, Kayla Waite led the Spartans with 12 points, while Erika Ostrove added three points and two rebounds. Erin Kilduff tallied seven points and six rebounds.
