UMass - Lowell took the lead from the tip on a three-pointer by Berry and controlled the first half. UMass - Lowell would take a 10-point lead into halftime, 35-25, their largest of the first half, with the help of an 8-0 to close the first frame.

The Setters cut their deficit to nine on two occasions, but that's as close as the game would get as the River Hawks continued their control maintaining their double digit advantage. Leading by nine, 39-30, with 15:35 remaining in the game, UMass-Lowell would push their advantage to 17 using an 8-0 run. The River Hawks would lead by as many as 21 as Lowell cruised to the 64-46 win.

The Setters were held to just 28.8% (17-for-59) shooting from the field, including 25.0% (7-for-28) from three by the stingy Lowell defense.
