STEPHANIE KLINGELE NAMED TO 2007-08
NORTHEAST-10 CONFERENCE
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM
SOUTH EASTON, MA - The Northeast-10 Conference has announced the members of the 2007-08 Women's Basketball All-Academic Team. To be eligible for selection to the academic teams, a student-athlete must have met and/or exceeded the following minimum requirements: 1) participated in at least half of the team's competitions and be either a starter or significant contributor; 2) achieved a 3.2 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale); and 3) completed at least one academic year at his/her current institution. The Northeast-10 All-Academic Teams are chosen by a vote of the Northeast-10 Sports Information Directors.
Pace University senior guard Stephanie Klingele (Staten Island, NY/St. John Villa) was named to the 2007-08 Northeast-10 Conference Women's Basketball All-Academic Second Team, as the biology major has posted a 3.28 cumulative GPA.
Klingele is averaging a team best 14.8 points per game, good for eighth in the conference and is second on the team in both rebounding and steals, averaging 4.8 and 1.5, respectively. Klingele ranks seventh in the NE-10 in free throw percentage (80.5% 66-for-82) and is tied for tenth in three point field goals made (30), while leading the conference in minutes played (34.82 mpg).
Klingele currently ranks eighth on the all-time scoring list in Pace University women's basketball history with 1,257 career points. She is also second all-time in three-pointers made with 213 career threes, putting her one three-pointer away from the tying the all-time record of 214 held by former teammate Andrea Padelsky (2001-06).
Pace (5-12, 4-8 NE-10) will next be in action this Saturday,
January 26th, as the Setters will play host to the
Skyhawks of Stonehill College (14-4, 10-3 NE-10), in a Northeast-10
Conference match up. Tip-off is scheduled for 1:30 pm. The Pace
University Athletics Department will be hosting "Child
Identification Day," as each family signing up a child for the ID
Kit will receive free admission to the games. The women's
basketball program will also be hosting its annual Alumni Day.
