KLINGELE TIES CAREER THREE-POINT RECORD
IN LOSS TO STONEHILL
SETTERS FALL TO THE SKYHAWKS 67-43
PLEASANTVILLE, NY - Pace's Stephanie Klingele (Staten Island, NY/St. John Villa) inched closer to Pace's all-time three-point mark, connecting on her record tying 214th trifecta of her career in the Setters' 67-43 loss to the Skyhawks of Stonehill College in a Northeast-10 Conference game. The Setters drop to 5-13 overall and 4-9 in the NE-10 while the Skyhawks improve to 15-4 and 11-3 in conference play.
Stonehill took control early, jumping out to an 11-0 lead within the first four minutes of play. The Setters would rally back using a 15-6 run capped off by Klingele's record-tying three-pointer with 11:20 left in the half to slice the Skyhawk lead to 17-15. Stonehill would extend their lead as it closed out the final 6:16 of the half with a 12-5 run to take a 35-27 advantage into the break.
The Setters would struggle shooting in the second half as Stonehill began to bulge its halftime lead. The Skyhawks used a 24-4 run over a nine minute stretch as they pushed their lead from 37-32 to 61-36 with just over seven minutes left in the game. Pace wouldn't threaten again and fell to Stonehill 67-43.
The Setters had no player eclipse double figures in scoring for the first time all season as Lisa Welsome (Staten Island, NY/St. Peter's) and Taylor Losey (Bristol, CT/Bristol Eastern) led Pace with seven points each. Klingele, Stephanie Rossmy (Staten Island, NY/St. John Villa) and Kristin Connolly (Staten Island, NY/St. Peter's) each scored six points. Rossmy and Welsome led the Setters with five boards each. Pace shot 17-for-58 (29.3%) from the field, while the Skyhawks shot 36.2% (21-fior-58) from the field.
For Stonehill, Kelsey Simonds posted a double-double with the game-highs in points with 20 and rebounds with 12. Bethany Tighe chipped in 14 points and five boards, while Megan Methven totaled 10 points.
