Le Moyne began the game on an 11-2 run in the first three minutes of play, led by Coyea's six points. Pace would come back eventually tying the game at 17 on a jumper by Klingele with 10:56 remaining in the half and would take their first lead, 20-19, on a three-pointer by sophomore Laura Mooney (Staten Island, NY/St. John Villa) at the 10:20 mark. The Setters used a 7-0 run to get back into the game after being down by nine. Tied at 22, Pace used a 6-0 run to take their largest lead of the half, 28-22. Le Moyne would answer with an 8-0 run to take a 30-28 lead, but Klingele would put Pace back on top with a three-pointer to make the game 31-30 with 4:19 left in the half. Klingele's bucket would be the last points scored in the half for Pace as the Dolphins rattled off 12 straight points to close out the half with an 11 point lead, 42-31. Dunn led the run scoring eight of the 12 points.
The Dolphins would pick up where they left off as they increased their advantage to 17, 48-31, on a pair of three-pointers from Gladstone. Klingele's three-pointer at the 15:55 mark of the second half ended Pace's scoring drought that lasted more than eight minutes that saw Le Monye post an 18-0 run. The Dolphins held a comfortable double digit lead throughout much of the second half, until a Losey lay up cut Pace's deficit to nine, 71-62, with 2:00 left in the game. A Brittany Huggins (Windsor, CT/Windsor) lay up with 1:09 left made the game, 71-64, but that's as close as the Setters would get as Pace would run out of time for any kind of comeback attempt.
Pace shot 38.8% (26-for-67) from the field, including just 20.8% (5-for-24) from three for the game. The Setters went to the line just nine times in the game, converting seven (77.8%).
