STRONG SECOND HALF POWERS SETTERS TO VICTORY OVER LE MOYNE

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y.- The Setters shot 13-for-24 (54.2%) in the second half as Taylor Losey (Bristol, CT/Bristol Eastern) netted all 11 in the final 20 minutes to lead Pace to their second consecutive win 64-52 over Le Moyne College. The Setters improve to 3-2 overall and 3-1 in conference play, while the Dolphins fall to 1-3 overall.

Both teams came out of the gate slow as the score was tied at 10 midway through the first half. Le Moyne would pull ahead 15-12 with 8:12 left in the opening period. Kristin Connolly (Staten Island, NY/St. Peter's) hit a jumper and a trifecta to put Pace up by two at 17-15 with just under five minutes to go. The Dolphins would pull even at 19 before the Setters would close out the final three minutes of the half on a 6-2 run to take a 25-21 lead at the break. Pace held a small lead despite shooting 9-for-30 from the field, but held Le Moyne to 9-for-23 shooting in the first half.

Le Moyne pulled to within three points at 26-23 at the 17:21 mark of the second half before Pace made their run. The Setters picked up their shooting, draining six three-pointers to lead a game-changing 24-11 run over a 10-minute stretch to give the Setters a 52-36 lead with 7:15 left in the game. Losey knocked down three triples in the run, while adding a hoop for 11 points to lead Pace. Brittany Huggins (Windsor, CT/Windsor) added a pair of trifectas, while Laura Mooney (Staten Island, NY/St. John Villa) capped the run with a three-pointer to build a game-high 16-point lead for Pace. The Dolphins briefly pushed the game to nine points with just over three minutes to go but the Setters quickly pushed it back to double digits and cruised to the win.

For Pace, Connolly led the Setters in double figures scoring with 16, while Huggins added 12 points and a game-high eight rebounds. Losey chipped in 11 points along with four rebounds, while Mooney dished out a game-high eight assists.

For Le Moyne, Courtney Coryea led the Dolphins with 17 points and four rebounds, while Meg Murphy finished with 10 points and six boards.

Pace returns to action on Saturday, December 5 when the Setters will host the Chargers of the University of New Haven in a Northeast-10 Conference game at the Goldstein Fitness Center at 1:30 pm.
