GAME 1- ASSUMPTION 56, BLOOMFIELD 45
PLEASANTVILLE, NY- The Greyhounds of Assumption College defeated Deacons of Bloomfield College 56-45 on Day 2 of the Pace University Holiday Classic. The Greyhounds improve to 8-3 overall, while the Deacons fall to 2-7 on the season.
For Assumption, Molly Griffiths led the Greyhounds with 16 points and nine boards, while Kelly Meredith totaled 15 points and nine rebounds. Kayla Parker finished with eight points and six caroms, while Katy Howard dished out five assists.
For Bloomfield, Robyn Burton led the Deacons with 13 points, six rebounds, five assists and four steals. Tiffany McDaniel totaled seven points and nine boards.
GAME 2- FELICIAN 55, PACE 52
PLEASANTVILLE, NY- The Golden Falcons of Felician College defeated the Setters of Pace University 55-52 in the final of the Pace University Holiday Classic. The Setters fall to 8-3 overall, while the Golden Falcons improve to 7-2 on the season.
For Pace, Kristin Connolly (Staten Island, NY/St. Peter's) led all scorers with 16 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Lauren Mooney (Staten Island, NY/St. John Villa) finished with nine points, six assists, five rebounds and two steals. Carol Johnson (New City, NY/Cardinal Spellman) totaled six points, eight boards and five assists.
For Felician, Janelle Biamonte recorded a double-double with 13 points and 10 boards. Taisha Hylor added 14 points and eight boards, while Quay Baskerville finished with 11 points and nine caroms.
The Setters return to action on Saturday, January 2 when Pace will host the Greyhounds of Assumption College in a Northeast-10 Conference game at 1:30 pm at the Goldstein Fitness Center on Pace's Pleasantville campus.
