SOCCER DROPS HEARTBREAKER TO ASSUMPTION 1-0
GREYHOUNDS' GOAL WITH 25 SECONDS TO PLAY DOWNS SETTERS

BRIARCLIFF, NY- The Pace women's soccer team dropped a heartbreaker to Assumption 1-0, as the Greyhounds netted the game-winning score with 25 seconds left in the game. The Setters drop to 4-10-2 overall and 1-9-2 in the Northeast-10, while the Greyhounds improve to 4-11-1 and 3-10-0 in conference play.

The Setters had the better opportunities on net, out-shooting the Greyhounds 13-11 for the game and had near misses as they fell short in the end to fall 1-0.

The Greyhounds scored the lone goal of the game with under a minute to go. The Setters were called for a foul in the center of the field just outside the goalie box. Assumption made a couple of quick passes as Ashley McMahon crossed from the left to Elise Hennrikus, who kicked in the game-winner with only 25 seconds left on the clock, handing the Setters a heartbreaking 1-0 loss.

In net for the Setters, Alexa DAgostino (Highland Mills, NY/Cornwall Central) went the distance, stopping five shots and allowing the lone goal. For Assumption, Lauren Matysiak also played 90 minutes, recording five saves and the shutout.

The Setters have completed their 2007 home schedule and will be on the road for their final two games of the season. The Setters will travel to Manchester, N.H. to take on Saint Anselm College on Saturday, October 20 for a 1:00 p.m. start time. Pace concludes their 2007 season when they travel to Smithfield, R.I. for an NE-10 game against Bryant on Tuesday, October 23 for a 3:00 p.m. kickoff.
