PACE AND DOMINICAN BATTLE TO A TIE
BRIARCLIFF, NY- The Pace University soccer team battled with Dominican College to a 1-1 tie. Pace's record stands at 1-0-1, while Dominican goes to 0-1-1.
The Setters scored early when Meghan Tremblay (Shrub Oak, NY/Lakeland) punched in a goal in the game's 2nd minute.
From there the battle wore on as both teams racked up a total of 30 fouls in the game. Dominican totaled 17 fouls, while Pace had 13.
Pace goalkeeper Courtany Hagen (New Paltz, NY/New Paltz) totaled 65 minutes of playing time, making six saves. One of Hagen's saves bounced off her finger tips out of bounds.
Margaret Porter ended the scoring drought for the Chargers with five seconds left in regulation by scoring off the wall on a free kick.
Pace outshot Dominican 23-19 on the day.
The Setters return to action on Saturday, September 5 when they start conference play against Southern New Hampshire University at 4 pm in Manchester, New Hampshire.
