 PACE DROPS NE-10 MATCH TO SOUTHERN CONNECTICUT

BRIARCLIFF, NY- The Pace University women's soccer team fell to the Owls of Southern Connecticut University today by a 2-0 score. The Setters fall to an overall record of 1-10-1, and 0-9-0 in the Northeast-10 Conference. The Owls improve to 7-5 overall and 4-5 in conference play.

The offense for Southern Connecticut was led by Jenna Mallico, who scored the first goal of the match in the 21st minute unassisted. Mallico also fired off eight shots in the match.

The Setters remained in striking distance until, the 79th minute when Chelsea Downer netted a goal that bounce off the left goal post.

Courtany Hagen (New Paltz, NY/New Paltz) went the distance in goal for the Setters making five saves against the Owls.

Pace women's soccer will return to action on Saturday, October 10 up in Colchester, VT against the Purple Knights of St. Michael's College for a 12:00 pm start.
