Women's Soccer Ends Season On Three-Match Win Streak
COLCHESTER, VT - The Pace University women's soccer team ended their season on a high note on Saturday afternoon, winning their third match in a row by downing the St. Michael's Purple Knights 2-1 in double overtime.
After the Purple Knights got on the board with a goal a minute in, Pace (5-12-1, 5-8-1 NE-10) tied things as off a free kick from senior Amanda Mundorf (Westfield, MA/Westfield) sophomore Chelsea Green (Caldicot, Wales, UK/Caldicot School) headed the ball into the back of the net during the 31st minute to make it 1-1.
Things remained that way through the second half and a first overtime. In the second overtime, freshman Delany Williams (Washingtonville, NY/Washingtonville) broke away on a lead pass from sophomore Kayce DeTemple (Newburgh, NY/Wallkill) and struck the ball inside the right post for the game winner.
The Setters outshot St. Michael's 19-15, which included an 11-8 advantage in shots on goal.
The match concluded the 2013 season for Pace.
