TENNIS ALL-ACADEMIC TEAMS
CHARBONNE AND KOSINSKI NAMED TO SECOND TEAM
SUBOTIC NAMED TO FIRST TEAM; CRABBS NAMED TO SECOND TEAM
SOUTH EASTON, MA - The Northeast-10 Conference has announced the members of the 2007 Men's and Women's Tennis All-Academic Team. To be eligible for selection to the academic teams, a student-athlete must have met and/or exceeded the following minimum requirements: 1) participated in at least half of the team's competitions and be either a starter or significant contributor; 2) achieved a 3.2 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale); and 3) completed at least one academic year at his/her current institution. The Northeast-10 All- Academic Teams are chosen by a vote of the Northeast-10 Sports Information Directors.
Pace University graduate Ross Charbonne (Bayshore, NY/Bishop's) (3.59 GPA/International Business) and senior Paul Kosinski (Staten Island, NY/Moore Catholic) (3.60 GPA/Finance) were both named to the 2007 NE-10 Conference Men's Tennis All-Academic Second Team, while sophomore Natalija Subotic (Bradenton, FL/Edison Academic) (3.83 GPA/International Management) was named the 2007 NE-10 Conference Women's Tennis All-Academic First Team and senior Emily Crabbs (Binghamton, NY/Chenango Valley) (3.69 GPA/Psychology) was named to the Women's Tennis All-Academic Second Team.
Charbonne and Kosinski were vital parts in leading Pace (6-10/5-6 NE-10) to a berth in the 2007 Northeast-10 Conference Men's Tennis Conference Tournament as the seventh seed. Charbonne posted a 4-5 record on the year in singles, while going 5-5 in doubles action. Kosinski was 6-8 on the year in first singles, while posting a 7-8 record in doubles action.
Subotic posted a 14-1 record in first singles on her way to
being named to the NE-10 Women's Tennis All-Conference Second Team.
Her lone loss of the season came in conference play against Le
Moyne College's Tirzah Walrath, who finished a perfect 16-0 on the
season. Walrath was named the 2007 NE-10 Women's Tennis Player and
Freshman of the Year. Subotic's biggest victory this season came
against Bryant University's Sacha Solomon, who was undefeated in
conference play in her collegiate career at the time. Crabbs posted
a 6-8 record in singles action and a 6-9 record in doubles action.
